Backups live in your own account
On Android the backup goes to your Google Drive; on iOS it goes to your iCloud. It sits in your personal account, separately from HabStick.

Your habits should not be locked to one phone. HabStick backs up to your own Google Drive or iCloud account, keeps an encrypted file you can carry, and restores your habits, streaks, reminders, and settings after you confirm.

Cloud backup should not mean handing your data to another company. HabStick writes backups to the account you already use: Google Drive on Android, iCloud on iOS. The Backup & Restore screen shows the last backup date and the backup size, and lets you turn cloud backup on or off, choose an automatic mode or Manual only, run Backup Now, restore, or delete the stored backup.
For a copy you control directly, Import/Export Data moves an encrypted .hbkp archive through the device file picker or share sheet. The file uses AES-256-GCM encryption in a versioned format. On a new phone, onboarding offers two clear paths—import a previous backup file, or sync from Google Drive or iCloud—and every restore keeps a safety copy locally before it replaces anything.
Minimalist design that respects your time and attention.

The Backup & Restore screen offers cloud backup on or off, an automatic mode or Manual only, Backup Now, restore, and delete, plus the last backup date and size.
Import/Export Data sends a .hbkp archive through the device file picker or share sheet. It is AES-256-GCM encrypted, and the app manages the key.
Archiving removes a habit from the active list but keeps its history. The Archive screen lets you restore it later or delete it permanently.
Your own cloud, a local file, and a restore you confirm.
Open Backup & Restore and turn cloud backup on. The backup goes to Google Drive on Android or iCloud on iOS, inside your own account.
Keep an automatic mode so backups can run when you open the app, or set it to Manual only and use Backup Now when you want a fresh copy.
Tap Restore from Google Drive or iCloud and confirm the import. HabStick saves a safety copy locally first, then replaces the habits and progress on the device.
